Ahead of Saturday’s league match, away at St Ives Town (3:00 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has spoken about the opposition, the search for new additions and the importance of our Under-21 set up…

“Tomorrow sees us make the journey to St Ives, for what promises to be be a very difficult fixture. They’ve been on a very good run of late and come into this off the back of an excellent result against Kettering, where they won 3-2.

“After Tuesday, we were very disappointed as a group. The first half performance was miles away from where we want to be and where we have been since I’ve been in charge. The second half was much improved and it felt like, on another night, we could’ve come away with something.

“This week has been a very tough week; losing Fin (Holmes) was obviously a blow, but it’s an excellent opportunity for him and we wish him all the best. Unfortunately, these are the risks you take with loan players.

“Me and Darryl (Knights – assistant manager) have been working so hard to bolster the squad over the past week. As I’ve said in my interviews, it’s all about bringing the right people in.

“We’ve got an excellent group of lads and we don’t want to ruin that, but we understand we need some depth to help us in the last nine games.

“Zac Powell has come back into the squad following a very successful loan spell at Westfields. The work Stu (Carson – assistant manager), Mark (Reeve – assistant manager), Iain (Queen – club football development officer) and the lads have been doing with the Under-21s has been great and Zac will play a big part in our final run in.

“Keep supporting the lads – we’ve had a good run and now we need one final push to get us clear of the relegation zone. The job isn’t done yet and we must stick together, continue to improve and win football matches.”
