Ahead of Saturday’s league match, at home to Royston Town (3:00 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has looked at the opposition and our recent home form, as well as providing a squad update, which includes a player departure…
“Tomorrow, we have a difficult match against Royston Town. It seems like yesterday when we last played them at home, which turned out to be my first victory as permanent manager – it’s fair to say a lot has happened since!
“We had two tightly contested games last season and I expect something similar tomorrow. They’re a fantastic Step Three side and they always offer a threat – you can’t take any team in this league for granted.Â
“Our recent home form has been good – a big improvement on the start to the season. Your support of late has been fantastic and the noise the Shed made when Benbow won the game last week was immense – something all of the players have commented on.
“Never underestimate the effect you have on the players – Saturday was a difficult game but, with your help and support, we got the three points.Â
“This week, Jack Kelly has made the decision to move on. Jack had a difficult start here with injuries slowing him down and he wants to play regular football. He’s a top lad, who I have loved working with, and I wish him nothing but the best with his move. I would like to thank him for his contributions during his time here.Â
“In terms of incomings, the squad is fairly healthy at the moment. We’re always looking at what’s available but will never jump into anything, unless it’s right for the group.
“As always, I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.”
