Ahead of Monday’s league match at Redditch United (3:00 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has taken an in-depth look at the current situation at Sporting and the game in store…

“Tomorrow. we travel to Redditch for an exciting local derby. Reflecting on Saturday – I was really pleased with parts of our performance.

“I felt, in the first half, we was excellent, but we needed to get on the score sheet. They scored an early goal, which put on us on the back foot – something that we must work hard to stop happening.

“Again, second half, I felt we were well in control, but conceding the first penalty made it a real uphill battle for us.

“Going into Monday and I feel there are a lot of positives to take. I love a local derby and I can’t wait for it. Last season, I was suspended for this fixture and had to watch from the stands, so I’m buzzing to be part of it from the dugout this year.

“Redditch have had a similar start to us – they have some good players and it will be a challenging game.

“I appreciate, over the last week, there has been a lot of negativity. It’s been a difficult week, but the lads and myself are working so hard to keep improving.

“We’ve played three very difficult matches at home so far this season and I apologise we haven’t been able to take any points from them – it’s something we’re looking to change very quickly.

“They’ll be a brilliant crowd tomorrow and we will need your support. Me and the lads represent not only the club, but also the town with pride, and we will be doing everything we can to bring back the points.

“See you tomorrow.”
