COACHES’ CORNER: Scott Adey-Linforth Previews Quorn

Ahead of Tuesday’s league match, at home to Quorn (7:45 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has spoken about Saturday’s win, our latest additions and reaching the 50-match mark as manager. He starts by reflecting on our trip to Quorn in September…

“It feels like a lifetime ago when we travelled to Quorn on a cold Tuesday night, which was a very difficult match – and I expect tomorrow night to be no different.

“In our previous fixture, I felt we dominated the first half, whilst they had the better of the play in the second half.

“Tomorrow night will be undoubtedly be the same – we will have to be on the top of our game if we want to take the three points.

“Credit goes to their gaffer Bez (Ryan Beswick) who has built a brilliant team that are having a top season so far.

“We come into the game off the back of a really good win against Kettering. I felt everyone, from Rory to the subs that come on, were fantastic.

“I’d like to give a special mention to our new signings Godfred and Jaden, who both started the game without even meeting the boys or training prior. This obviously wasn’t easy, but you would never have guessed!

“It’s important now for us to back Saturday’s result up. The league is constantly changing – we’re 11 points above the drop zone and seven points off the play-off positions, which shows just how tight it is. Our focus is always to improve from the previous match.

“On a personal note, I’ve been in the job for one year now and I would just like to say thank you to all the supporters for their backing in that time.

“It’s been a challenging year, but I feel as though we’ve had a lot more highs than we have lows.

“I’m proud to manage this football club and represent this great town. We have a lot of work to do but, with your help and support, it makes mine and the players’ jobs a little bit easier!

“I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night!”
