Ahead of Saturday’s Isuzu FA Trophy match at Leek Town (3:00 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has previewed the fixture, starting with thoughts on Tuesday’s disappointment…
“Tomorrow, we make the journey to Leek town for an exciting FA Trophy First Round tie. Obviously, on Tuesday, we were nowhere near the level we needed to be and no one was more disappointed than me.
“We came into the game in good form after a decent run of results and performances, so the result came as a bit of a shock to everyone.
“As I said in my interview, I can only apologise to the supporters that made the journey.
“After a busy run of league fixtures, it’s nice to go into a cup fixture, against a team from another League.
“Leek come into the game on the back of a decent result, after rescuing a late point away at Hebburn Town.
“After knocking out Halesowen in the last round, they’ll be full of confidence and, like us, I’m sure they’ll want to put a cup run together.Â
“We welcome back a few injured faces back into the squad this week, which comes at a great time after a tough few weeks of matches in the league.
“The lads worked hard on Thursday and are determined to put Tuesday’s result right.
“Thank you as always for your support.”
