Ahead of Saturday’s league opener, at home to Bishop’s Stortford (3:00 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has spoken about the opposition, pre-season and our amazing support…

“Hello and welcome back to the UK Electrical Stadium. It’s been a long summer, with lots of challenges, but I’m buzzing to welcome you all back.

“Me and the staff behind the scenes have worked hard to build a really competitive squad. I’m delighted to welcome all the new faces, as well as the familiar faces from last season.

“I’d like to place on record my thanks to all the players that have moved on – the work they put in for me and the football club last season won’t be forgotten.

“We’ve had a good pre-season and are raring to go this Saturday. Bishop’s Stortford will be a very difficult game to open with, having recruited well this summer. We had two good games against them last year and I’m excited to play them again.

“We come into the game as fit and ready as we can be. On the whole, we’ve had an excellent-pre season minutes wise and the majority of lads come into Saturday’s game in great shape.

“Unfortunately, we picked up one or two knocks against Hungerford in our final game, so these will be assessed going into the weekend.

“Once again, I’m looking forward to welcoming you back – your support last season was vital and will be needed once again as we embark on a new campaign.

“We have a hard working team, which I’m sure you’ll be able to get behind. Not only do we represent the club, we represent the town, and we will do our best to make you proud across the country this season.”
