Ahead of tonight’s league match, at home to Stratford Town (7:45 KO), manager Paul Smith has spoken about the fixture, the opposition and our travelling support at Hitchin on Saturday…
“We go into tonight’s first home game of the season with some confidence from our brilliant opening day 3-1 win at Hitchin.
“That said, I believe this game tonight, against a very good Stratford side, will be a much stiffer test.
“They came very close to securing a play off place last season. They have retained the majority of their squad and spent big in the summer to strengthen.
“They too started very well on Saturday, and my scout was very impressed.
“Paperwork permitting, we welcome our new signing Theo Robinson to the match day squad. We unfortunately have a couple carrying knocks, so there will be fitness tests for those this evening.
“We took a great following to Hitchin and those that travelled made a big difference – your support didn’t go unnoticed.
“The players and I are hoping for another good turn out, so lets get right behind the boys and see where it can take us.”
