COACHES’ CORNER: Paul Smith Previews St Ives Town

Ahead of Saturday’s league match, at home to St Ives Town (3:00 KO), manager Paul Smith has spoken about the fixture, recent results and his praise for the opposition…

“We have two extremely tough home league games this week, starting against St Ives tomorrow.

They are a side who I thought were fantastic last season, and have had a solid start to this season too.

“They are a well drilled side who are coached very well and, as the statistics show, have one of the league’s best forwards in their ranks.

“We go into the game on the back of an FA Cup victory last week and, before that, a very good performance at Telford in the league.

“Ultimately, points are crucial, and especially at home, so this week offers us a big opportunity. Performances win games nine times out of ten and the players understand tha.

“This week, undoubtedly, is a big week for us, and I hope to see as many of you there supporting us as possible.”
