COACHES’ CORNER: Bren Kelly previews Alvechurch

Ahead of our Boxing Day match in the inaugural Red Recruitment Cup, at home to Alvechurch (12:00 KO), manager Bren Kelly has previewed the fixture, looking at our build-up to the game and the dynamics of the derby.

“A feisty derby in store for us on Boxing Day, as we face off against Alvechurch, in what will be the first meeting between the two teams at the Victoria Ground.

“The performance in our Redditch win was much more acceptable than previous recent results, and our Stourport win was promising too – we need to take that momentum into Boxing Day – we won comfortably at Alvechurch last term, but it means nothing given it turned out to be void.

“We haven’t got a full strength squad available, but it’s good to see our new signings starting well, the latest of which being Andre (Landell), who notched up on Tuesday night.

“More bragging rights are at stake in this tournament – we cannot thank our Sporting faithful enough for making this a sell-out.

“I hope you come to the VG on Boxing Day having enjoyed a very happy Christmas – see you there.”
