The Bromsgrove Sporting board are disappointed to announce that Richard Boorn has asked to stand down from his position of vice chairman, and the board of directors, owing to health advice.
Chairman Rod Brown commented: “Although Richard will continue to fully support the club from the terraces, his governance and attention to detail on the finances role he undertook will be missed.
“Personally, I have enjoyed the short time we have been working together since joining the board in December.
“He should be very proud in helping to stabilise the club, especially as we are now looking to continue its development.
“His health and wellbeing is obviously far more important to him, his family and everybody at Sporting. We cannot thank him enough for his contribution to date.”
Reflecting on the sad news, Richard said: “I am sorry I have had to step away from my role at the club. People who know me will be aware I have never sought a position at the club, but it became very clear in December that if Rod and I had not stepped in, the club would have folded.
“I am leaving with a number of emotions; firstly, sadness that I need to step away from this project at this club that I love. Secondly, pride in the fact I leave the club in a better state than I found it and, finally, excitement at the future for Bromsgrove Sporting.
“There are many things being worked on that will raise the club to where it needs to be and I am confident, under the management of Paul Smith, the football journey is going places and I look forward to being on the terraces to watch it happen.”
