U18s
Bromsgrove Sporting’s U18s lost 5-2 in a season opener at Bedworth this week despite a promising team performance.
Sporting’s George Andrewartha scored a double for the visitors, but Bromsgrove’s limited player availability gave Bedworth the advantage, with fresher legs allowing them move ahead in the final quarter.
In spite of the defeat, manager Dave Andrewartha praised the performance of his dedicated squad, who he said showed great character.
“We were playing really well, but sadly they were able to bring on subs and we weren’t able to freshen it up or move things around tactically,” said Andrewartha.
“I’m really proud of the lads for their performance in terms of their work rate and attitude, which was absolutely spot on.”
The Under 18s will be back on Monday, for their first home game at the UK Electrical Stadium against Studley (7:45 KO)
U21s
In other news, the U21 team have launched a Facebook page!
While the development side enjoyed a weekend off, the new social media channel was created to reach new audiences and increase the team’s online exposure.
The U21s’ set up is always keen to evolve its communications with fans to make everyone feel included and by introducing coverage on Facebook, hopefully more Sporting fans can come down and support the team!
