U21s SUMMARY: The Latest News

This article about our U21s side, from Matt Tennant, reflects on last weekend’s postponement and this Saturday’s home fixture…

The wait for gameday continued for Bromsgrove Sporting U21s, as they found themselves at the mercy of poor weather conditions last weekend once again.

The team’s first game of the New Year against Coventry United U21s was postponed, due to the continued impact of heavy snow following Storm Goretti.

The team have hit the ground running in training sessions despite the freezing weather conditions and have continued to train ahead of their next scheduled fixture.

Now, Sporting’s U21s are set to face S J B Juniors U21s this weekend, in what will be their first game since early November.

It’s been a diffcult season so far for S J B Juniors U21s, with frequent losses – some by as many as a 15 goals.

The Birmingham-based unit have lost all twelve of their matches in the MFL U21 Division this season, putting them in last place in 19th.

They sit alongside Diamonds Academy U21s at the bottom of the table, with their only win coming against the struggling S J B Juniors side.

In comparison, Bromsgrove Sporting remain in the mid-table fray in 11th place – equal on 15 points with Coalville Town Ravens U21s.

Despite a frustratingly long break since their last outing, Sporting’s U21 side have maintained their rigorous training schedule and arrive this weekend as the most rested team in the league.

With home advantage, will Bromsgrove’s U21s pick up where they left off and make it four consecutive wins?

Get down to The UK Electrical Stadium on Saturday 17th January to see Bromsgrove Sporting U21s take on S J B Juniors U21s (10:30 KO).
