Coleshill Town 3 (McSkeane 10', Sweeney 17', Brookes 28')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0

Two 100% pre-season friendly records were on the line at Pack Meadow on Tuesday evening, but it was Coleshill Town who maintained theirs, with a comprehensive victory over Bromsgrove Sporting.

Coleshill, managed by former Bromsgrove player Harry Harris, easily chalked up their fifth friendly win on the bounce, courtesy of goals from Alex McSkeane, Harry Sweeney and Dan Brookes.

For Bromsgrove, this was something of a rude awakening after smooth victories over Romulus and Stourport Swifts.

The deadlock was broken 10 minutes in, as McSkeane capitalised on Sporting's keeper Adam Harrison fumbling the ball in the box, allowing him to tap in.

McSkeane almost doubled his tally four minutes later, but he struck wide from a promising position.

However, the home side would only have to wait a further three minutes to get their second, as Sweeney found the net with a crisp volley.

The third was added in the 28th minute, as Brookes was in the right place at the right time to turn the ball in from close range.

Billy Shaw almost pulled a goal back for Sporting in the 32nd minute, but his shot was saved by the feet of keeper Cam Belford.

Up the other end, Harrison kept out a close range effort from McSkeane with two minutes of the half remaining.

The early moments of the second half saw a Sporting trialist have a strike blocked before Luke Benbow struck over.

Coleshill's Ross Evans curled an attempt narrowly wide on the hour mark, whilst Nick Clayton-Phillips had Bromsgrove's best chance of the game with 20 minutes remaining, with his shot from inside the box clattering the woodwork.

Coleshill are next in action against Bromsgrove's league rivals Stourbridge, whilst Sporting face a trip to Sporting Khalsa at the weekend.
