With the Christmas and New Year festivities behind us, Bromsgrove Sporting’s U21s are now focusing on the return of the season.

The team are kicking off 2025 with a home fixture against Bedworth United U21s this weekend.

The match marks Bromsgrove’s first appearance at the UK Electrical Stadium since October 2024.

Despite the festive break, the team remained active, with training sessions to maintain fitness and prepare for the season to recommence.

“Happy New Year to everyone associated with Bromsgrove Sporting,” said joint manager, Stuart Carson.

“The lads have been working hard over the Christmas break and we managed to get a couple of sessions in to keep them on their toes.”

Fellow joint manager, Mark Reeve, said: “The team had a good attitude over Christmas with the additional training slot, and now it’s back to training this week for the group.”

Sporting’s U21s have now returned to their regular training schedule after last weekend’s game against Stourbridge U21s, which was originally meant to be their first league match of the year, was cancelled.

Saturday’s fixture will be the second time these teams have met after Bromsgrove beat The Greenbacks 1-3 in August, on what was the Rouslers’ first game of the season.

Sporting are currently fourth in the league, with three games in hand over third-place Bedworth.

“We now embark this weekend, weather dependant, on the start of a good run of games to push on with their overall development” said Stuart.

Joint manager Mark added: “We are all looking forward to returning to league action this coming weekend, against a strong Bedworth United side.

“We hope the weather will be kind to us, so that league action can recommence.”

Bromsgrove Sporting’s U21s will welcome Bedworth United U21s to the UK Electrical Stadium on Saturday 11th January (10:30 KO).
