At our game versus Stourbridge over Christmas, club legend Nathan Hayward recorded his 100th appearance for the Rouslers.
This occasion was celebrated in the Rouslers Bar after this weekend’s match versus Alvechurch, with a specially-made award given to the midfielder by his sponsor for the season, Richard Boorn, of Bondtech.
Nathan, who becomes the 14th player to the century mark for Sporting, has enjoyed many iconic moments in a Bromsgrove shirt. From his play-off semi final winning goal versus Sutton Coldfield to his sensational volley versus Hednesford Town in our famous 4-0 home win over the Pitmen.
This season has been successful for the 30 year-old too, winning back-to-back Fans’ Player of the Month Awards in August and September, along with scoring superb goals in our 1-0 league win over Hitchin Town and our 6-0 FA Cup victory over Worksop Town.
On reaching this landmark, Nathan commented: “Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me whilst I’ve been at this great club. To play 100 games for Bromsgrove is a fantastic achievement and it is a privilege to wear the shirt.
“This club has a special place in my heart and it will always be a special place for me. Please get behind us through what is a bit of a tricky time, because we need everyone now more than ever.
