2020/21 SEASON: Ticket prices

The following is a statement regarding ticket prices for the 2020/21 season.

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who have been so supportive and understanding over the last few months. Everyone is aware that Sporting is run in a self sufficient way; the lessons learned from the sad demise of Rovers means that the club is run solely from income, and importantly, all income goes in to running the club.

COVID, of course, put a sudden halt to our amazing progress over the last few years, both on the pitch and financially. We have also lost our tenants Worcester City (who we thank for their support over the last few seasons and wish them well in the future), our new academy has had to be postponed for 12 months due to the time lost in lockdown and, of course, a lot of our loyal sponsors are finding things tighter at this time, so may not be in a position to offer us the same level of support for this coming season.

That all said, at the start of lockdown, due to the hard work over the last four years, Sporting was in a better position to get through the difficult time ahead, despite having to still pay the high rent and other mandatory costs, alongside the maintenance of the stadium and pitch to ensure it stays safe and in good repair – all this with no income.

The new ‘Sporting Chance’ prize draw has helped towards our outgoings and we want to thank everyone who has supported it but, as you can imagine, finances have taken a hit and that will continue to be the case while we still have a limit imposed on our attendances.

Hard decisions have had to be made; our priority remains to support Brendan again of course, but running costs have to be found too, and although we have had to reluctantly increase entry prices for 2020/21 season, we will still need to have our usual amazing fan base back as soon as possible, to avoid any possible compromises going forward.

The future of our club is paramount.
