Dear Rouslers,
For our game against Stratford Town FC on the 28th February 2023 we can confirm that we will be wearing an all-white tribute kit for our former player Cody Fisher. Cody was a much-loved member of the football community, and we aim to use this game to pay our respects to Cody.
The idea behind the kit was inspired by Arsenal Football Club’s ‘No More Red’ initiative which is aimed at keeping young people safe from knife crime and violence. As a community club Bromsgrove Sporting want to use this as an opportunity to raise awareness around such an important issue.
As a stance against knife crime, we will be removing the colour red from our kit for this game. The colour white is a symbol of the stand against knife crime. This kit will only be worn once and will contain a Cody 23 tribute on the front of the shirt. Following the match, these match-worn shirts will be auctioned off to supporters, with all of the proceeds going to the family of Cody Fisher and their charity of choice.
We can also confirm that there will be collection buckets on the day should fans wish to make a donation, as well as an additional raffle which has been kindly donated by our sponsor, Swallow Wholesale Drinks Solutions. The prize for this will be a full hospitality package for 2 people at a Birmingham City game of their choice this season (value of £500).
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Southern League and Stratford Town FC for their support in agreeing to the kit swap. Further thanks goes to our kit sponsor, Bromsgrove District Council Commercial Waste Services, who have kindly donated the kit to the club. In addition, we would also like to thank Moving Forward Sports for manufacturing this kit at a reduced rate to help support the cause.
Further details will be given following the game, outlining how to purchase these match-worn shirts.
