MEET SANTA: A review of Father Christmas’ visit to the VG!

On Tuesday, we had a very special guest at the Victoria Ground, as Father Christmas took time out of his busy North Pole schedule to visit us!

Children visited Santa and his elves, received a gift and had a chicken nugget meal, whilst adults enjoyed the pork and turkey baps, plus the mulled wine!

Santa couldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for our event organiser, Julie Harrison-Cornes.

She said: “I want to say a big thank you to everyone who came. My team of helpers were fantastic and it just proves what we mean when we say we are a Sporting Family.

“I hope some people who visited for the first time will try and come to one of our matches and see what a great friendly place Sporting is, with its great team of staff.

“My thanks also goes to Gavin (Hurren – manager) and the players for coming and their support. And, of course, how could I forget Santa too!”

Santa’s elves!

Manager Gavin Hurren commented: “It was fantastic to see all the kids at the Meet Santa event. It was really nice to see the amount of people there and it was lovely to get around the children and the parents, signing balls and shirts. It was great to see smiles on the kids faces.

“The food was really nice and the event was brilliantly organised. Credit goes to Julie (Harrison-Cornes, hospitality manager) and her team for that. It went down really well!”

We’ve had some wonderful feedback from Santa’s visit too!

David Foulger commented: “It was a great evening, well done all. Santa was great, the kids’ presents were excellent and their meals were good too. Pork baps were lovely and the mulled wine was a treat. Well done Sporting.”

Lisa Jane Dennis said: “I had a fantastic evening with Santa. Julie and the team did a fantastic job, with excellent food and lovely, friendly staff. Me and my daughter had a lovely time.

Juney Taylor commented: “Santa did an amazing job! And all his helpers! Thank you!”

Shane Gallagher said: “Thank you to everyone at Bromsgrove Sporting for Santa’s grotto and the food – the boys loved it.”

Kirsty Harrison commented: “A lovely day and evening spent there. Well done to every one involved, who made us feel welcome! Well done to Julie and her little elves for making it so magical!”

Santa – we thank you for visiting and we hope the rest of your preparations go well ahead of the big day itself!
