Following two chastening defeats to Bedford Town and Corby Town in less than a week, manager Bren Kelly admits there is plenty to think about in the wake of these performances.
“After two heavy defeats and 11 goals conceded, its back to the drawing board for us.
“What concerns me most is the severe lack of character in the games – in the first half against Bedford and Corby, we did well but once we conceded through individual errors, we seemed to cave in.
“Mentally we were making wrong decisions and we lacked character. Albeit against two sides who will be favourites for the league, but we know we can do better.
“I firmly believe that you don’t become a bad team overnight, so we will be back in training tonight to look to get things right as soon as possible.
“Whether it means I need to change personnel I’m not sure yet, but certainly some work needs to be done.
“We always knew we would come up against tougher tests this year but the way we folded in the last two games cannot happen again.
“There were a few individuals that did okay but they carried too many and it’s difficult to get results when carrying people.
“I would like to thanks the supporters that travelled to the game and I would like to reassure them that we will do our best to ensure they should not expect such performances again
“The positives are we are still top of the league and have lots of time to put things right.”
