With Monday’s play-off final versus Corby Town coming up, we are getting insight from some of our players, looking at the fixture and the season as a whole. Here is midfielder Kieren Westwood’s take…
“Since I’ve joined, it’s been nothing but positivity; the players have set exceptional standards to churn out wins, and it all stems from the support from the staff and fans.
“On a personal note, I’ve found it so easy to settle in and have been welcomed by all. We finished the season strong with only one loss in 14 and we took that winning momentum into our semi final.
“The performance was way below what we know we can produce, but the best teams grind out wins when performance is lacking.
“You have to give most of the credit to the ‘12th Man’, as in the tough spells when we was up against it, they really made the difference – 1800+ fans on a Wednesday night is unreal and on the pitch you can definitely feel the support.
“Monday is a huge game for players, staff, fans and the club as a whole; we’re all expecting a huge turn out as usual, and promotion is so close now that all it needs is one more big push from everyone to get us over the line.”
