NEWS SUMMARY: Kings Langley fixture + manager’s thoughts post friendlies

Bromsgrove Sporting can announce that our home league fixture versus Kings Langley has been re-arranged for Saturday 21 September 2019.

This is due to our involvement in the FA Cup on 24th August, where we will be facing either Hanley Town or Leicester Road at home.

Manager’s thoughts (taken from our Instagram page)

Post-Wakefield (2-1 win)

“There was a little bit of a reaction (following the Boldmere defeat). It was a much better second half than the first but fair play to Wakefield, all them lads have come out of pro clubs and they were fit and strong and gave us a really good workout.

“Really pleased with the goals, two really good finishes – conceded a sloppy one so we will look at that but overall, a really good workout.

“It was a really good finish (Higgins’ goal), on the turn and in off the bar. Robbie’s (Thompson-Brown’s) strike is what he’s capable of. The goals were pleasing and, all round, it was a good workout and I was pleased with it.”

Post-Worcester City (3-2 win) plus a look ahead to Cheltenham Town on Tuesday

“Loads of tackles going in, plenty of passion obviously being a derby but it’s just more minutes into bodies. We tried a few different things today, some of it came off, some of it didn’t but, same again, it’s pre-season that’s what it’s for.

“There were certain parts of the game that were really good that pleased me, and there were other parts that concerned me so learnt loads – there were plenty of positives as well.

“I don’t know what sort of team Cheltenham will put out but we can only concentrate on ourselves and play as best we can. The reason you get these good friendlies is to test yourselves against full-timers and hopefully the fans will come and cheer us on.”

NOTE: Interviews will be returning to the YouTube, Twitter and Facebook very soon! Pre-season, as you all know, is a time to try things out, and it’s no different for the media!

So we thought that putting interviews onto our fledgling Instagram account would be a good way of seeing what works and what doesn’t for when the season starts proper, as well as drawing attention to our Instagram and hopefully build up the numbers on it! We hope to have interviews (of some description) on all of our social media platforms moving forward. And we are sure you will agree, any interviews are better than no interviews at this insightful stage of the season!
