MATCH PREVIEW: Info for Saturday’s home fixture vs Yaxley

Bromsgrove Sporting are at home tomorrow (Saturday 3rd November) to Yaxley, in what will be our first Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central game since 6th October, where we beat Dunstable Town 1-0, courtesy of a Charlie Dowd goal.

Yaxley currently lie 14th in the league table, with 12 points from 10 games – their fans must certainly be accustomed to entertaining games, with Yaxley having scored 24 goals and conceded 31 in these 10 matches, making for a goal difference of -7.

Yaxley’s last four league outings have featured two 4-3 wins, plus 6-2 and 7-3 losses, with a 3-2 FA Trophy win over Corby Town, who knocked Sporting out of that very competition, also sandwiched in there.

Sporting will be looking to bounce back after two poor recent league showings, those being heavy defeats to Bedford Town and Corby Town. A Worcestershire Senior Urn 5-0 away win versus Stourport Swifts on Tuesday will no doubt have inspired confidence amongst the Bromsgrove camp, which hopefully can be carried forward into Saturday’s game.

In our Coaches’ Corner column, manager Bren Kelly commented: “Yaxley will provide a very dangerous test on Saturday. They score lots of goals and we will certainly respect them.

“I am pleased that we are back at the VG too, as it’s been a while and I can only hope our faithful will be there to cheer us back to winning ways.”

The winner of October Player of the Month will also be honoured with a presentation prior to kick off – you can vote for your winner here (voting closes 7:30 Friday).

We look forward to seeing you there, on what is sure to be an entertaining afternoon of football!

No Villa, Blues and Albion away from home and Wolves not kicking off until 7:45 – you know it makes sense!
