FOODBANK COLLECTION: Donations still wanted + don’t forget the pets!

Bromsgrove Sporting are still collecting for local foodbanks every Tuesday morning at the Victoria Ground from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm; demand remains high and with school holidays having just started, that is not going to decrease over the coming weeks.

As always, a couple of shopping trolleys will be left by the large gates at the Town end of the ground for donations.

Items received, of which an estimated 2000 have been collected since the lockdown commenced, are passed on to the two centres – one operating out of Catshill Baptist Church, that covers the North Bromsgrove and Rubery area, and New Starts at Aston Fields, that covers the South Bromsgrove area.

Both organisations ask for non-perishable foodstuffs, such as tins, jars and packets, along with non-food items, such as toilet rolls and nappies.

In addition, a number of people have animals that also need feeding, so pet food is also welcome. With that in mind, our chairman, Mike Burke, who owns the Big Pet Store in Halesowen, recently donated a number of large bags of biscuits (see above picture) that were split into around 100 smaller packs –  sure to keep a few mutts and moggies happy!

If anybody prefers to make a financial donation, then that can be done online, via the two following links:
