FOODBANK COLLECTION: At the Victoria Ground

Local food banks report an increased demand but dwindling supplies at the present times. Now schools are closed and a number of people will be on reduced or even zero income, demand is bound to increase – with this in mind, Bromsgrove Sporting will be opening the Victoria Ground to accept any donations.

Entry to the Victoria Ground will be via the big yellow gates at the Town End of the ground at the following times:

– Tuesday 24th March from 11:00am to 12:00pm.

– Wednesday 25th March from 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Depending on take up and support, further opening times will be considered later in the week.

These will then be passed on to the food banks operating out of Catshill Baptist Church and New Starts, Aston Fields.

We shall not be passing donations ourselves, as the people operating the food banks have defined rules for who receives supplies based on need.

The following items are needed

– Long life food: nothing fresh
– Staples: Tea, coffee, tins, rice, cereal, pasta, custard, biscuits, tinned food.
– Toiletries: Toilet roll, soap, toothpaste, washing up, liquid, nappies, ladies sanitary items
– A little indulgence?: Puddings, cake, chocolate, sweets, crisps, biscuits
