Ahead of our visit to Thatcham Town on Saturday in the FA Vase, manager Paul Smith, plus midfielder Sam Wills and defender Aaron Roberts, have being previewing the fifth round proper encounter.
Paul Smith expressed confidence in his team: “We don’t fear anybody at this level; the squad we’ve got are very, very good, very, very strong and very, very competitive.
On the opposition, he said: “I respect them, and you’ve got to respect a side that have won 18 on the bounce; they’ve just gone top of their league.
“We’ve done our homework on them and a performance like that (the 5-1 win over Coventry Sphinx) on Saturday will give us a fighting shot at it so we’ll go there in good form.
“So will they, so lets hope for a tremendous cup tie in front of our usual, strong faithful.
“(We’ve) watched them twice, so we know all that we need to know. Hopefully, it at least gives us some sort of idea.
“I’m sure they’ve done exactly the same, so we look forward to crossing swords Saturday with them.”
Midfielder Sam Wills said: “We wanted to put a big performance out today (against Coventry Sphinx); not only to show everybody in the league that we’re at it but to bounce into Saturday full of confidence in what’s our biggest game of the season.
“Thatcham are flying but if we’re at it on our day, we can beat anyone. The quality coming off our bench tonight (vs Sphinx) shows how the big squad is and how much quality we’ve got so we’ll take anyone.”
Defender Aaron Roberts said: “The gaffer said they had a few down watching us tonight (vs Sphinx) and they’ll be going home very worried, especially if we put together anything close to that on Saturday.
“They’re in the latter stages of the competition; they wouldn’t be there if they wasn’t a good side.
“We’ve been away to sides with similar records and we’ve played sides here (at home), your Bristol Manor Farm’s, your Buckland’s. They’re all there to be shot at and if we go there Saturday confident, we can win.”
