COLTS AWARDS: Under 8s presentation evening

Saturday evening (29th June) saw a presentation evening take place for our Under 8 Colts team at the Rouslers bar and function room, which featured Sporting first team defender Tom Rankin as a special guest.

In the teams 2nd season, and first under the new Bromsgrove Sporting Colts banner, a fantastic evening was supported by family and friends of the team.

The evening included a quiz, raffle, ‘Guess the Sweets in the Jar’ and a highly competitive Table Top Football competition.

The evening was a great showcase of how the two clubs are working together to create the future of youth football in the Bromsgrove area.

A big thank you goes to parents Vicky and Carly for their fundraising efforts, and of course anyone else who helped in any possible way – your support is much appreciated.

The Colts would also like to express thanks to sponsors KIP McGrath and Touch of Beauty for contributions to raffle prizes.

A full list of all raffle prize donations will be announced on social media in due course.

A massive thanks also to the support of the Bromsgrove Sporting 1st team manager Brendan Kelly, who kindly arranged for Tom Rankin to help coaches Jon Livesey and Matt Hare present the awards.

The award winners were as follows:

Under 8’s – Player of the Season – (Joint award) Ethan Lowe and James Livesey
Under 8’s – Most Improved Player – Alfie Jones
Under 8’s – Top Goalscorer – Ben Mumford
Under 8’s – Best Referee (Parents support award) – Andy Fox

Coaches Matt Hare and Jon Livesey commented: “A big thank you from all of us at the Under 8s; from coaches, parents, to the young players, for Tom taking the time to come and support such a fantastic evening.

“We would also like to thank Julie Harrison-Cornes, her team, and Rob Birch for their fantastic hospitality on the evening at the Victoria Ground.”
