COACHES’ CORNER: With a twist…

In light of both Josh Quaynor and Jason Cowley both saying in their Team Mate Talk features that the player they thought most likely to become a manager was Richard Gregory, we’ve let the striker take charge of this week’s Coaches’ Corner, ahead of our Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central match versus Bedford Town on Saturday…

“First of all, I would like to welcome Kyle Lincoln to the club. The gaffer said Kyle was a player he very much liked from the two games we’ve played against Dunstable Town this season and I have no doubt he will be a very strong addition for us now, as we head into our last 12 games.

“Tomorrow will be a very tough game, as I personally believe that Bedford are definitely one of the stronger sides in the league.

“We will want to put in a good performance, as the game at Bedford earlier in the season was nowhere near good enough – we conceded some very sloppy goals but, on the other hand, we also could of been three or four up after 30 minutes.

“We have scored 11 in our last two games and hopefully we can continue our good attacking form going into Saturday’s game. However, we know Bedford are a dangerous side and we will have to be at our best to keep them out also.

“I’m sure, being at home, we will raise our standards as we usually do and get the result that is required

“Training was very good this week; the numbers were very high and the lads certainly showed that there is plenty of options as we enter the final part of the season.

“Hope to see a packed out VG tomorrow to cheer the lads on – as always, your support is very important to us all.”
