Ahead of Saturday’s visit to North Leigh in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central, first team coach Kev Barry has looked ahead to the fixture, as well as reflections on a hard fought victory versus Yaxley in our most recent fixture.
“Well I think all who were at the game against Yaxley FC on Saturday would agree that the Bromsgrove lads showed a real togetherness to get through this tough fixture.
“To go one down, contend with playing the final 30 odd minutes with 10 men and STILL pick up three points is testimony to how far the lads have come this year.
“It was one of our best performances to date and well deserved and just what the group needed going into an away fixture this Saturday.
“This weekend will see us again go into the unknown again against a well-established North Leigh outfit, who have been plying their trade at the step 4 level for over 10 years.
“They have a great tradition and over the years have established themselves to be one of the top Oxfordshire clubs.
“The league table shows that North Leigh haven’t had their best start to a league campaign, however they have played 6 of the top 10 sides so their league position may not be a true reflection.
“All that said it is imperative that we focus what we can achieve on the day as I firmly believe that if we give a professional and disciplined performance we are more than capable of gaining another important result for the club and the Bromsgrove faithful.
“Brendan has a full squad to choose from with now fresh injury worries, competition for places in the squad at the moment is as tough and has a knock on to staking a claim for the starting 11.
“I am sure Brendan wouldn’t want it any other way!”
