Ahead of our Evo-Stik Southern League Division One encounter versus North Leigh on Saturday, manager Bren Kelly has previewed the fixture, including reflections on last weekend’s win over Peterborough Sports, the importance of staying grounded and a squad injury update.
“Cuts, bumps, bruises, exhaustion.
“All the above was evident in the dressing room after Saturday’s win at Peterborough Sports and it was exactly what was required to get anything from the game and the lads provided it in bucket loads.
“The squad gave their all; cool heads and fire in the bellies. The game had everything – lots of incidents and crucial situations that could have sent the game either way.
“I do believe we just about edged it and deserved our win, becoming the first team to beat them at their place this season.
“All of that hard work will be undone if we don’t repeat it this Saturday against North Leigh.
“In the return fixture, we won 5-1 in a very good squad display, with the substitites contributing very well on the day to help us seal the win.
“The squad looks strong again, however we are still sweating over Tom Taylor’s ankle injury and Rich Gregory may be available again but we won’t rush him, given the fact we have no fixture next weekend.
“Fans were amazing as always last Saturday – incredible support for such a long way. Thank you so much.”
