COACHES’ CORNER: Bren Kelly previews Malvern Town

Ahead of Tuesday night’s Worcestershire Senior Cup quarter final versus Malvern Town (7:45 KO), manager Bren Kelly has previewed the fixture, looking at building on Saturday’s win and the importance of vying for cup success.

“Tomorrow night, we turn our attention to a cup competition with lots of rival clubs in it. The Worcestershire Senior Cup is one we want to win.

“Although it does not have financial rewards, it’s a chance of silverware, so we will try our best to progress.

“After the euphoria of Saturday’s win, it’s important we look to duplicate the performance. which I thought was very good considering the tactical change forced on us so early in the game, following the red card.

“We are after momentum, and the same work rate and desire we showed on Saturday. Malvern will be a decent outfit, but it’s imperative we chalk up another home win.

“The squad is almost back to full strength so numbers are good; special mention to all the players for their efforts and endeavour to get the three points – nothing less than the same will be required here.

“It’s a competition I want to take seriously and try to win, so we will go strong and try get a good performance and win.

“The Shed was back to its noisy self on Saturday – long may it continue.”
