COACHES’ CORNER: Bren Kelly previews Cambridge City + Sutton Coldfield Town

Manager Bren Kelly takes a look at our next two upcoming fixtures, the first being a challenging trip to Cambridge City, before we welcome Sutton Coldfield Town to the Victoria Ground on Boxing Day.

“Tomorrow we head into the unknown again, as we face Cambridge City away from the VG.

“This is a hugely important stage of the season, with lots of games in a short space of time and, of course, lots of points available.

“I have reports on Cambridge and they are certainly capable of giving us a real good test, especially at home.

“We need to remain focused – do the simple things well and let our quality shine through.

“Application is very important and the lads must apply what we have asked of them in training on the pitch to give us any chance of winning.

“So far this season, they have implemented the instructions very well, with some very attractive forward play and plenty of goals .

“We have a full squad to chose from, including the new additions that have recently signed, so the selection choice is healthy, which is great because we have a very tough game also next Wednesday at home to my former club Sutton Coldfield.

“As good as it will be to see my pal Neil Tooth (manager), we will be turning up for one thing and one thing only – a positive result.

“Can I take this opportunity to wish all the Sporting faithful, everyone at the club; staff, players, board, volunteers and fans, a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”
