COACHES’ CORNER: Bren Kelly previews Barton Rovers

Ahead of Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central encounter versus Barton Rovers on Saturday, manager Bren Kelly talks squad news, continuing the fight for the title and praise for the support at last weekend’s match at Didcot Town.

“This Saturday we aim to make it a 10th straight win in the league against Barton Rovers.

“Last Saturday was a real dog fight against Didcot, but the boys came out on top and deserved the three points.

“I must praise the mentality of the lads for the efforts and relentlessness they have shown as we chase Peterborough.

“It’s not easy to remain positive when they keep winning week in week out like us – but the lads will not give up hope on the title until it’s mathematically impossible and fair play to them – we did suffer a few slight injuries and are sweating on a couple to be fit for Saturday, but the squad will still be strong enough to get something from the game, no matter who is selected.

“As I write the preview, Jake Heath is the only unavailable player due to work commitments.

“The support last week was as loud as I’ve heard the Sporting faithful and I hope that rubs off on the home supporters this week in the Shed.

“Some great songs are being made up about individual players and its great to hear from the touchline.

“With five to go, we are in good nick consistency wise. So, again, we will strive to give nothing less than our all to try win on Saturday.”
