Coaches’ Corner ahead of our League Cup match versus Alvechurch (Tuesday, 7:45 KO) comes from Bren Kelly.
“After a strong win on Saturday, we return to Lye Meadow tonight for a League Cup tie. Saturday’s result was very pleasing and being three up at half time was a nice cushion to have.
“That’s 23 goals in five games in all competitions, which shows the quality and ruthlessness the lads have in front of goal. The second half was a little patchy but the game was kind of over as a contest; the lads have set very high standards with their performances so far, so when they come in after a 5-1 win showing frustration it gives me lots of pleasure that they feel they could have done better.
“Our fans were amazing again and I hope they keep coming back.
“Tuesday night will be another chance to learn and test ourselves against a step three side; obviously it’s not been a long time since we last played Alvechurch, so the lads are aware of the task in hand and how tough it will be.
“We will mix it up to make sure other lads get minutes who have not featured that much, so it’s a chance for them to put a good performance in and give me something to think about.”
