Ahead of our Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central encounter with Dunstable Town on Saturday, assistant manager Andy Mason has previewed the fixture and the last time we met, as well as reflections on our two most recent wins, player latest and more…
“First of all, I would like to thank all of our fans for the truly magnificent support that they give to us. They are unbelievable and make such a difference.
“Saturday’s win against bottom of the league Kidlington was a real battle to say the least, because of the way they set up and the shocking surface we had to play on.
“We saw a side to our game that we hoped we had first hand and that was showing we can roll up our sleeves when we need to and win battles.
“Tuesday night’s game was a different type of battle, with it being more mentally challenging as we had played so well in the first half of our last meeting against Didcot.
“The question was could we do it again? The answer was yes – and we were very convincing for most of the game as well.
“We were really pleased with Westy’s (Kieren Westwood) debut. He is going to be a great signing with his quality and, of course, it’s great to see Spinky (Liam Spink) back in a Bromsgrove shirt at home and playing so well.
“This Saturday’s opponents, Dunstable Town, gave us a very good game at our place in October and only a great strike by Charlie (Dowd) separated the teams, so we are going there to expect another tough game and hopefully we pick up more valuable points on the road.
“Will (Shorrock) is in our thoughts, as he is having his operation today (Friday) and we wish him well and a speedy recovery so he can get back to retiring some more right backs!
“We are busy putting on as many points on the board as we can and making sure we stay as close to the two favourites for this league in Peterborough Sports and Corby Town as we can.
“Hope to see you all Saturday.”
