COACHES’ CORNER: Andy Mason previews Barton Rovers

Ahead of Saturday’s visit to Barton Rovers on Non League Day, assistant manager Andy Mason casts his eye over the fixture.

“On the back of a very busy week for us, with players coming and going, we welcome Dan Crane, Louis Hall and Jake Heath into the squad.

“Sadly Reece Francis decided to leave for Redditch and we wish him well.

“Saturday’s game away at Barton Rovers is the first of four very tough away games, that will test our squad to the maximum.

“Barton have had an indifferent start, by winning three, drawing two and losing two, so again, we go not knowing what to expect.

“One thing we do know is that we are going there to win the game and want to pick points up on the road, because these points make all the difference come the end of the season.

“We had 20 players at training this week and worked on some things we felt we need to improve and the response from everyone is excellent. The players are chomping at the bit and competition for places is high.

“Our fans are our 12th man and are vital to us not only at home but away games especially as you truly make a difference.”
