Bromsgrove Sporting can announce that we have joined the Southern League Football Academy (SLFA), taking the number of clubs up to eight.
Chairman Mike Burke commented: “Following on from our promotions to a level more fitting for our club and with the successful partnership with our Colts, Bromsgrove Sporting FC have felt for some time that the next step in our progression was to have an academy.
“For the last couple of years, we have looked at several providers to work alongside us; some have been more academic than football focused, some the other way around.
“Others required more from the club than we were able to offer. Then we met The SLFA and they offered what we felt was the perfect balance, allowing us to work together to develop players at a local level, with some graduating into the first team in years to come, whilst giving them a structured education for their future.
“The football club look forward to working with everyone involved with the SLFA.”
An SLFA spokesperson commented: “We are delighted to announce the new arrival of Bromsgrove Sporting FC onto the SLFA programme for September 2020.
“The club is rapidly developing and have shown excellent initiative since the club was founded in 2009. We have already received great interest in the area and are extremely excited to get started.”
Recruitment begins now for a September 2020 start and interested applicants can apply at: https://www.theslfa.co.uk/register
