Bromsgrove Sporting chalked up their second win from as many pre-season games on Thursday night, courtesy of a 1-0 win at Walsall Wood.

Gift Mussa scored the winner for Southern League Premier Central Bromsgrove, with Walsall keeper James Wren performing well for the Midland Football League Premier outfit.

Chris Lait and Josh Quaynor both had efforts saved early on by Wren, which were followed by Mikey Taylor capitalising on a short back pass before hitting straight at the keeper from close range 28 minutes in.

Six minutes before the interval, Josh Ezewele capped off a nice Sporting move with an effort just wide of the goal from an acute angle.

The 51st minute saw Bromsgrove's Kieren Westwood hit a free kick from the edge of the area tipped onto the crossbar, but he would be involved in the game's only goal seven minutes later, as another free kick of his was whipped into the path of defender Harry Higginson, who headed the ball across goal, allowing Mussa to tap in from six yards.

Ezewele and Taylor had further chances for Sporting soon after, while the final chance of the game saw Bromsgrove's Liam Spink shoot from 25 yards, but straight into the hands of Wren.
