JUNIOR TEAMS: Awards evening

Saturday evening (7th July) saw a presentation evening take place for two of our junior teams at the Rubery British Legion.

The awards were the final ones to take place for the Santiago Colts Under 7’s and Under 11’s teams, before they officially become the Bromsgrove Sporting Colts FC.

The evening was a great showcase of how the two clubs are already showing they are working together to create the future of youth football in the Bromsgrove area.

Bromsgrove Sporting manager Bren Kelly kindly attended as a surprise guest to all that attended to help Matt Hare, Under 7’s Coach, Jon Livesey, Under 7’s & 11’s Coach, and Carl Shipway, Under 11’s Coach, to present the awards.

The award winners were as follows:

Under 7’s – Top Goalscorer – Ben Mumford
Under 7’s – Player of the Season – Joel Graham

Under 11’s – Top Goalscorer – Liam Livesey
Under 11’s – The Bill Edge Special Award and Players Player – Sam Evitts
Under 11’s – Coaches Player of the Season – Oliver Jones

Under 7’s coach Matt Hare commented: “The evening was a great success and around 100 people attended to celebrate the youngsters’ achievements.

“A big thank you from all of us at the Under 7’s and 11’s; from coaches, parents, to the young players, for Bren taking the time to come and support such a fantastic evening.

“It was a fantastic show of how the two clubs have already shown they are working together to create the future of youth football in the Bromsgrove area.”
