After our 4-0 league defeat to Coleshill, manager Bren Kelly spoke…
“FIRST of all, fair play to Coleshill on a fully deserved victory, the better side won on the night. Unfortunately for us, they scored at crucial times during the game; the first came 5 minutes in, but then I thought we gained a bit of momentum in the last 15 -20 minutes toward the end of the first half where we got in behind and created a few chances. I almost didn’t want half time to come.
“That game us plenty of belief as we came out for the second half when, again, I thought we looked like getting back into it, but then the second goal went it at another crucial time.
“Following that came Luke’s red card; it’s hard enough to play good sides with 11 men, let alone 10. Again, fair play to Coleshill, they took their chances when they got them .
“What disappoints me most is that they seemed to want it more than us and that’s unlike our lads.
“Going forward we have to dust ourselves off, do a bit of soul searching and come back stronger, starting at Khalsa on Saturday.
“It was also bitterly disappointing that we could not get a good result for the amazing turn out of our fans.
“We are still trying to add to the squad but it’s a difficult time of the season to bring in quality, as they are all involved in play off pushes or league championships and, as with all clubs from now until the end of the season, we all have 2/3 games a week and all teams need to try and keep a large squad to cater for that.”
